Winemaking Notes: Heritage is our tribute to tradition and our family farming roots. Inspired by the blends of Bordeaux, this Cabernet Sauvignon–driven wine reflects the character of our vineyard through the blending of all five Bordeaux varieties.
Assembling this blend is always a welcome challenge. We start with an abundance of riches and refine each element until we find the perfect combination of varieties and vineyard blocks to create a wine that both captures our vineyard and wins the hearts of all who taste it.
Early warmth in 2023 gave way to a lovely long growing season and ensured that expressive and ripe Cabernet Sauvignon took the lead. Sourced from both Catherine’s and Bridget’s blocks, it forms the backbone of the wine — delivering structure and rich dark fruit flavors.
Cabernet Franc from two different blocks and Malbec from Rose’s block contribute vibrancy and complexity. Petit Verdot and Merlot lend equal but offsetting influences – Petit Verdot brings the structure and depth, while Merlot adds plushness and roundness.
The result is a wine that has strength and grace with structure and length for years of aging alongside layers and intricacy to keep you engaged for hours of enjoyment in the present.
Varietal: 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 18% Malbec, 9% Petit Verdot, 9% Merlot.
Vinification: 20 months in French oak barrels. 18% once filled, 82% neutral.
Technical: 14.5% ABV, 6.0 g/L TA, 3.6 pH
