Winemaking & Aging: Fermented and aged sur lees in neutral French oak for 6 months. 

Technicals: 13.3% ABV, 3.1 pH, 7.1 TA

Vintage Notes: The 2023 growing season proved to be one of intensity and compressed timelines. Initially starting with a cooler spring, the vintage swiftly rebounded with unanticipated warmth in May, followed by consistently above-normal temperatures throughout the summer. Despite a delayed bud break occurring the last weekend of April, nearly 3 weeks behind the norm, the season completed with one of the earliest harvests on record, with picking commencing on September 18th, a full 3 weeks ahead of 2022. Despite the abbreviated growing period, the grapes reached the desired ripeness and retained their characteristic acidity through harvest. 

Winemakers Notes: This Rhône-style white blend captivates with enticing aromas of mango and apricot with undertones of chamomile and honeysuckle. The palate is simultaneously round and refreshing, accentuating delightful flavors of Meyer lemon, peach, and tangerine. On the finish, an infusion of tropical fruit emerges adding an extra layer to the flavor journey. This wine may be enjoyed now and also holds the promise to age gracefully for several years.

Recommended Food Pairings:

  • Seafood of all types, including sushi, sashimi, oysters, clams, lobster and most rich, as well as delicate seafood dishes
  • Lovely with light meats such as chicken, pork or veal
  • Compliments buttery, creamy or other savoury sauces; i.e. pastas with buttery, pesto or cheese sauces, truffles, smoked salmon
  • Delicious with a wide variety of cheese, including sharp cheddar, Gouda, Manchego, Brie and Camembert
  • For Dessert: Pear or apricot tartes; pastry with cream such as cheesecake
