Winemaking Notes: Sémillon is a unique grape variety that often has a surprising richness and depth of flavor that sets it apart from its better-known partner Sauvignon Blanc. Both grapes hail from Bordeaux, where they have been cultivated for centuries and are frequently blended. In Washington, with just 250 acres planted, Sémillon is a rare gem. It thrives at our vineyard site and we love to amplify those characteristics with our winemaking. Barrel fermenting and aging adds to the inherent richness and bringing together multiple fermentations for a final blend adds to the natural complexity of the fruit profile.
