Assemblage: 33.3% Cabernet Sauvignon (Catherine's Block), 33.3% Cabernet Franc (Rose’s Block) & 33.4% Syrah (Bridget’s Block). Hand-harvested between September 27 & October 24, 2024 for optimal ripeness & flavor.
Winemakers Notes: While we don't have a favorite grape variety in the vineyard, there are three that lend themselves to making delicious rosé. Cabernet lends bright fruit and freshness, Cabernet Franc adds spice and intrigue, and Syrah provides color and richness. This year we found a magical combination with equal parts of all three. It is very versatile and easy to enjoy because of its perfect combination of bright, fresh fruit and soft richness.
Vintage Notes: The headline of the 2024 growing season in Washington was a significant freeze event in January that devastated many vineyards. Fortunately, Dineen Vineyards' vines escaped damage thanks to our elevation and south-facing slope, which allowed the cold air to drain and protected the vines. After pruning, a cool spring delayed bud break and bloom. Our Summer weather was largely unremarkable aside from a heat spike in July, which pushed Growing Degree Days (GDD) back to normal and allowed on time ripening (véraison). Milder temperatures through September and October provided for extended hang time, fostering slow and balanced ripening.
